I have always love Arabic style of makeup. I mean let’s take a moment and talk about those elongated eyes, those amazingly blended cut creases and let’s not forget about that fuller looking brows. I mean I had to give myself a surprise makeover on this you know. It has been a hot minute since I gave myself a “genuine” makeover. UH UH! I am not talking about those everyday simple glam shabamzzz.. The GENUINE makeover like with those fluttery lashes, constructively contoured face, highly defined brows and glowingly disco ball like cheekbones! I guess I was too busy giving others the makeover this year. Well, I told myself that it’s about time to get my Makeup Artist Mode ON and transform the hell outta myself.
So I wasn’t even going for this Arabian inspired look but after I came up with the full result, I had to name it “Arabian Nights”. Before starting off, I would like to share my one of the most special tip to you guys. JUST GO WITH THE FLOW. I know you are going to think like, “how is this a tip?” Trust me, take it from a girl who decided to do her own makeup for FORMAL/PROM. I thought about the look for over a month and was stressing over when it was not going according to the plan. That is what taught me to just forget the plotting and planning and work your inner artistry out and just go with the flow. Trust me, you will love the end result.
Moving on, another reason I wanted to share this look with you guys is that you can literally wear this look to any occasion and every skin tone can pull it off. So, hope you enjoy!
First off, let’s start with eyes. I only used Tarte Cosmetics Pro Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette for the whole eye look. I used the color “chic”(light nude) in my crease as my transition shade. Then, in order to slowly build the intensity, I used the color “innocent”( dark nude) on top the transition shade. After blending the color seamlessly, I used the color “whimsy”(burnt orange) and blended everything together to give that seamless crease. Then, in order to intensify the outer V, I went with “no filter”(light purple) and “drama”(dark burgundy). I used the shade “whimsy” again in the fluffy blending brush and blended all of the colors to create that gradient effect. Now for the eyelid, I wanted to give a clean space for the turquoise to work with. So, I took a concealer on flat shader brush and cleaned up half of my eyelid. Then, I took the same crease color and blended it in my inner crease for the halo smokey look. Now for the star of the show, I took the shade “trendy” (dark turquoise) and placed it in the middle area. Don’t forget to blend the whole look together before you put on the fluttery lashes and give yourself a sharp winged eyeliner. Now, our eye look is not done yet. For the lower lash line, I took the same crease colors and blended in half of my lower lash line to balance the look together. Then, for the other half, I took the creamy glittery eyeshadow and glided on the nude eyeliner in my lower eye rim to give the makeup look that extra oomph.
For face makeup, I decided to go rather heavy on the foundation and concealer to match up with the intensity of the eyes. I went with cream contouring and very highlighted features to give more of that Arabian makeup vibes. Also, I went with rather bold brows with highly defined edges. However, I decided to tone it down a little with the blush and lips. I went with soft peachy blush and baby pink glossy lips. In order to add that extra SUMTHIN SUMTHING, I added the fake septum ring and finished the look accompanied by the glittery hoop earrings.
This makeup look has to be by far my best transformation on me yet. I haven’t been myself this much as I was today (YOU GO GURL). I don’t know, I just love it when my inner makeup artistry flows like a river.
I bet you gurls N guys are gonna rock this makeup look, no matter what skin tone/ color you are. You can take it anywhere, You name it – Night out with girls, a Dinner date with your man, Wedding, Prom, etc. ANYTHING.
Thank you guys so much for making it this far. I hope you guys like this makeup look and please send me photos if you end up trying it out.
