Back at it again with another eye makeup post ladies! and this time, I decided to go full on bold! First, I should apologize for the late post but I am trying really hard to balance my uni and work life. Excuses aside, ever wanted to pull off the intense black smokey eye but stopped right in the middle cause it literally makes us look like someone punched us? I have to admit that I have been in this situation for dozens of time myself and I must admit it’s not that easy but it’s also not a rocket science ladies!
Let’s get started, shall we?
Then we are moving on to our lid color. So when doing a black smokey eye you are always aiming for that intense matte black effect. An eyeshadow alone might not be able to pull it off so I am taking this black gel eye pencil. I am using the one by Physicians formula .
Then, it’s time for that black eyeshadow for lid. I am using Maybelline’s nudes eyeshadow pallete and using the black shade from that pallette onto my eyelid.
Blending is the key while doing smokey eye make sure you blend really softly using windshield wiping motion back and forth to create that soft shadowed effect. Also, I am using the dark brown color and carving out my outer V ever so slightly
The black smokey eye doesn’t look complete without balanced face makeup so I did my full face makeup with baking and bold highlight and contour. Then I used the same crease color in my lower lash line and I used the black shade ever so slightly in outer third of my lower lash line to balance out the eye makeup properly. I went ahead and popped in some falsies. I am using one by manicure glam eyes “Selena lashes” . Then I popped on some nude lipliner by Australis cosmetics in the shade “skinny dip” to line my lips and filled it in. Then I used the creamy matte lipstick by chichi in the shade “socialite”. It’s like a candy pink liquid lipstick so I just used it in center of my lips and blended with nude lip liner. I wanted very subtle nude lip color as our eyes are already bold. Also, I went for soft highlighted cheeks using The Body Shop “shimmer waves” . I also used it on my tip of my nose and my inner corners.
There you go you guys, the black intense smokey eye using drugstore makeup which is appropriate for a night out, dinner and so on. I hope you all like it.
