Do you know what I get asked the most since I went public as a blogger/makeup enthusiast? How do you manage to use foundation every day without getting skin care problems? Don’t you get pimples for using too much makeup? or How do I wear foundation and not get any skin care problems at all? It amazes me that the number of questions I get asked is not about makeup itself but how do I take care of my skin after putting all those layers in my face. And, I am not gonna lie, this was me two years ago. And I have committed all those skin care sins and got through all those tough times with my skin care. In short, your girl has been through a lot. That is why I decided to do this post specifically for people with oily/sensitive skin and tend to get skin care problems easily. (Also, since I do not fall under dry skin category so I thought I won’t be able to give you exact suggestions based on my experience.)
Get ready to raise your hands, ladies! Have we ever gone to sleep with makeup? – Yes. Have we ever skipped washing our makeup brushes/beauty blenders for like two weeks/month? – Hell Yes! and the list goes on..Let’s admit, we all have been there once and committed those sins. That is probably why you are going through this post cause you require some skin care fixing. 🙂
I feel like skin care can be such an investment cause once you find the right thing that works for you, it will do wonders. In my case, two months ago, I worked like crazy shifts and you know didn’t have enough time to take care of my skin or my makeup brushes/sponges. That was also the time when I moved house so it was a bit hectic and of course the pimples won’t leave a chance to pop out of nowhere and surprise you so there I was hopeless with acne in my face like I have never seen before. Every time you don’t think some skincare product is working out for you, don’t wait until you finish the product and keep causing troubles to your skin but try to find a new one. I researched for some really good skincare ingredient for oily/sensitive/acne prone skin and “Tea Tree” kind of stood out to me as it was everywhere.
Been a while I was eyeing on The Body Shop products cause they are just natural and felt like a good investment. So I went ahead and bought it. I have been using it for a month or so and I kid you not guys, I literally felt the difference within a day or two (not so huge like my acne scars went away in a night) but you know the feeling when your skin feels good for yourself? I feel like it works so well because of the cooling/soothing effect it has on the skin. It feels so minty and therefore, it’s refreshing for your skin and keep your skin shine free throughout the day.
The face wash I use can be used as a face wash/scrub/mask and it works as an exfoliator. You might think using an exfoliator every day in your skin might be a bit rough but the beads in this face wash are way too tiny and soft and it won’t tug your skin at all.
Talk about the thick gel moisturiser, this tea tree moisturiser is so thick and feels so refreshing on the skin (I even use it as a eye cream) but it is quickly absorbed by the skin and keeps your skin shine free as well. I actually ran out of my moisturiser and had to buy one couple of days ago( It is that good). I have seen/felt the changes in my skin and they feel so much better even without having to do pamper sessions for my skin so definitely recommend guys for the acne prone or sensitive oily skin.
Another thing I wanted to talk to you guys about is your simple effort to make the product work even better. DO NOT use a beauty blender/ makeup brushes if it is not washed at least twice a week. I have experience the effect it has on your skin and also your makeup won’t apply as good as it would with a clean one. Also, the important one, please guys DO NOT ever go to bed with makeup on. Your skin rejuvenates the most while you are sleeping. Instead, if you are too tired keep the makeup wipes next to your bed to at least get 50% of your makeup off your skin. If you want me to do a separate blog on simple steps you can take to allow your skincare product to do their best, I am more than happy to tell you guys the skin care hack that I use myself. 🙂
That is all for this post.. thank you guys for the patience and time you gave for this post. Until next post, please take care of your skin and stay beautiful.
