Hello there beautiful people, welcome back to my blog. This morning I woke up with an intense need to cry my hearts out and just think of every negative phase possible that I have been through in my life. Let’s be honest, we all have our own stories that are kept private, the stories which only we know better and the stories that just seem surreal to tell the other person. Behind every perfect instagram photo, we all have those underlying sadness and circumstances that we have been through or are currently going through. The intense emotions that woke me up this morning was something I have been thorugh years ago but is still alive within me and woke me up reminding its existence. Overall, we all have some stories to tell, a life which is basically an influence of our experiences and we have all been through some sort of hardship.
Today, I want to share you guys some of my own ways to self love and care, some of the tips that I have adapted over the course of time to help myself tackle all those hardship and move on.
Tip 1: Say it out loud
Everyday I am busy remiding myself my own worth and to love myself, to smile at myself looking in the mirror or to just tell myself how strong and beautiful I am. And it works, it puts me in the right mood, makes my brain instantly realise that I recognise my self worth.
Tip 2: Find an inspiration and make it a hobby
My first go to stress reliever when I was having a hard time was writing. I would type basically anything that came in to mind, print it out and leave to the most ignored corner of my wardrobe. I would then revisit all those feelings and emotions that I have poured out in a piece of paper in about a year or few months time to remind myself I was once that broken but now I am in a better place. I also started makeup as my hobby and it still is my go to option to self love. The more I did my makeup, the more I got opportunities to learn new things and the more I started getting busy at it and didn’t have time to worry about my problems. You are basically forming an illusion so that your brain would focus more on things you like doing rather than things that make you sad.
Tip 3: listen to the music you like, find your role model.
We all know music is a great escape from reality. Whenever I have my earphones on with my favourite song tuned in, I forget all the worries and pain and have this sudden urge to rethink my life and the decisions that I have made, make myself question if I am happy. Basically, it allows me to be mindful of my own life and the people or things that are related to my life. I started listening to Kpop because of my sister and I fell in love with this Kpop group BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) . Their album is all about loving yourself, accepting your past, your flaws and you as a person. I have few of the songs that are my go-to to listen to when I am sad( BTS – Spring Day & BTS – Save Me) This has helped me cry my hearts out, but to be back in my feet and realise I am not the only one going through this and to be able to relate my pain through their lyrics.
Tip 4: Take care of your skin and body
The first step of loving yourself comes from taking care of yourself. How often do you treat yourself? How often do you think about the food and water you put into your body? I didn’t either at one point until I realised by not doing so I was causing so much harm to my body. Treat your skin every day, if not every now and then to learn self love. Put that face mask on and forget all the worries, it is just you and your skin. Take that makeup off, cleanse all the toxins and moisturise your face before bed. Drink heaps of water, go to gym, keep going back to the gym, crave that endorphines and be mindful of what you are eating. Do these one step at a time but make sure to do it.
Tip 5: Learn to listen and share
One of my biggest issue in my life is finding it hard to share my problems and to listen to others. I have realised sharing my problems have decreased my load of burden by half. Find someone you feel comfortable with to share your issues and learn to trust. One of the important way to forget your own issues is by listening to others. It makes us realise we are not the only ones in life with problems and issues.
There you go, my top five tips to self love and to tackle all the negativities and problems in my life. At one point it gets harder I know, you will feel like you don’t have control over your life but you will be fine trust me; as long as you love yourself. Hope you can find your peace of mind.
