Ever wondered if there is any skincare product on this earth that is chemical/parben free? Well, look nowhere, the Australian Natural Skincare brand “SuKin“, doesn’t cost the earth. Well, at least that’s what it claims to be. I have been using few of the SuKin skincare products such as moisturisers and mist toners for over a year and I am in love with them. I honestly wanted to change up my skincare routine a bit, you know the usual “trying new moisturisers and all that jaaz”, but I honestly get driven to SuKin aisle and just cannot move forward. I end up putting the same moisturiser in my shopping basket, over and over again.
This time, I wanted to update my usual skincare routine. I am mostly a “sheet mask” kinda gal, you know the cute ones you can get from The Body Shop. But, when I saw this Face Masque from SuKin, I just had to grab it. I have been eyeing for charcoal based masque for a while now and I found the one free from chemicals and preservatives and it’s SuKin. So, you guessed it, I knew I would fall in love with it.
Let’s talk about what this masque claims to be. So, it says, it is an Anti- Pollution Facial Masque which has oil-balancing charcoal. I am a combination skin type but also I tend to incline mostly to oily side. It says it has bamboo charcoal, willowherb and rooibos tea that helps to draw out impurities. Also, it has bilberry, white tea and pomegranate which contributes to a balanced, healthy complexion. This is what the product claims to achieve. But, does it actually achieve all that jaaz mentioned? Well, stick around to find out.
Up until now, I have tried this product for a month and I usually try it twice every week and sometimes once. I thought it was going to be thick in consistency but it actually turned out to be pretty thin. It has kind of bamboo like the scent, but not that strong. It comes with a lid layer in between the actual lid and product (whoo! hope that made sense) which helps to protect from the product being contaminated between use, so that’s a plus point. I start by applying it in centre of my face because that’s where I need maximum oil balance and also to minimise pores. Then, I work my way up to my forehead, chin and all those places. (I make sure I get every “noooks and crannies” , OCD you see!) I let it stay on my skin for at least 15 minutes or until the masque dries up completely. It does not have any tingly sensation on my skin, but when it dries up, you can feel your skin tightening. That gives me a sense of “it’s working”. That way, I can believe that it is actually controlling oil and minimising my pores, which is what this claims to achieve. Then, I rinse it off completely using luke warm water and it leaves my skin so smooth and balanced (almost the baby-
butt softness). However, the effect though, doesn’t last for too long but for the time being, I think it does it’s work and leaves few effect behind. This is why I suggest you guys, to do it at least twice a week.
As long as the review goes, I highly highly recommend it to you guys. I mean it is affordable, chemical/parben free and most importantly does it’s job. What else do we need from a skincare product, right? I hope you all find it useful and if you have any product that you would like me to review please comment below. I will leave you guys a link of where you can purchase it off.
