When I first spotted this trend, what came right in my head? I thought, well it’s just another excuse to show off. But, you cannot be right every time, especially when it comes to fashion. I had to learn this the hard way, but fashion is all about getting out of your comfort zones and embracing new trends to find out if it actually defines your personality. Then, it made me think, I don’t always like to stay comfortable and secure, sometimes I want to look edgy and chic, be bold but look put together and look athletic but feminine at the same time. That’s what this trend is all about.
So, what exactly is MESH? Mesh is the luxe but, sporty type of fabric that screams athletic but with a twist. It’s the best way to let your skin breathe this spring, but also look edgy while you’re at it. Now, I got this maroon red mesh t-shirt but never got to try it out. I guess I thought it was just not me (that didn’t stop me from buying it though). It originally came attached with the another knitted mesh (inner) but I decided to kind of separate them so I can make a good use out of both of them (I literally cut them apart). I also decided to make a knot on one side of t-shirt cause I wanted it to look crop.
Now, we all have seen the trend of wearing the dress or tank top over the t-shirt and boy, was it hit? So, for this look, I decided to reverse things a little bit. I wanted to give that layering tank top/dress over a t-shirt trend ago but, with a small twist.
For this look, Our Star Of The Show is this maroon red mesh tee. In order to pop the maroon color, I decided to pair it with the white bodysuit underneath it. Mesh’ es can be normally worn with a bra underneath to show off your skin but also keeping in mind that you’re not actually showing too much.(ya know what I mean, we don’t want a nip slip now, do we?)
That is why I opt for the white bodysuit underneath it. It shows enough in a way that makes me feel comfortable. Also, the maroon looks brighter by being placed over white. However, to tone down the brightness little bit, I decided to go with a black crossover mini skirt. You can pair this top with anything, (pants, shorts). But, I choose skirt in order to play against the sporty vibes the mesh shirt gives and make it look for feminine. To elevate my shortness, and make it seem I can pull off skirt no matter how short I am, I decided to go with this black platform heels. I also added some accessories like crystal hoop earrings, the septum ring, and my own personalized Pandora bracelet. I have also added the makeup look for you to go with the look. (I already have a blog post on it, so don’t forget to click the link)
Personally, since I started blogging, I have realized that trends are there for you to embrace (at least once) to see if it actually works for you. However, while doing it, keep in mind that you always pair it with a style you are comfortable with. That is when you look your best.
